Mumbai, a Mega city with a population of 20 million residents and several amenities, still lacks a functioning waste disposal system. This problem concerned Environmental Engineer Monisha  Narke. She founded a Social and Environmental Enterprise “RUR GreenLife” in 2010, which aims at solving this problem in a decentralized manner. She observed that more than 70% of Mumbai’s waste is organic and can easily be composted at home and community levels. Using her expertise in engineering design, she developed a patented biocomposter, which makes natural composting stress free , odor free and foolproof. In this episode Monisha talks about the “RUR” journey, which stands for “are you reducing, reusing, recycling”.
